Step 5: Camera and Dye Inspection

• Sewer cameras: a small camera on a flexible rod travels through drains and sewer lines to spot cracks, roots and broken joints directly.
• Dye testing: tracing dye added to a toilet or fixture reveals leaks through cracked flanges, worn wax rings, and overflow pipes that only leak when flushed.
• Pressure testing: isolating a section of pipe and watching for pressure loss confirms a leak inside that section without opening anything.
